North West England
In June 2018 the inaugural meeting of the North West Regional NPPG Group was held. The group is currently lead by Judith Martin, Lead Paediatric Pharmacist for Warrington Hospital NHS Foundation Trust supported by Andrea Gill and Neil Caldwell, NPPG National Committee members.
The aim of the group is to develop a forum for sharing of information, ideas, education and training amongst paediatric pharmacists in the North West.
Paediatric pharmacists from 10 hospitals (Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Wirral University Teaching Hospital, Macclesfield Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Wigan Infirmary, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Countess of Chester Hospital and Liverpool Women’s Hospital) have attended the group so far.
The meetings have had a successful format: refreshments and networking followed by clinical presentations and then a general discussion on pertinent issues for those attending including medication incidents, drug shortages, improvement plans and problematic clinical issues. We have also shared guidelines and delegated actions to items we discuss.
To join the group, contact Andrea Gill for more information.
