The Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG), with support from the Royal College of Paediatrics of Child Health (RCPCH), the Paediatric Critical Care Society (PCCS) and the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) has produced a proposal for a national approach for standardised intravenous infusion concentrations in children and neonates.
In November 2024, this framework document was further updated with new drugs and additional concentrations for neonates under 2kg, as well as some of the concentrations being reviewed. This is supported by RCPCH and Joint RCPCH/NPPG Standing Committee on Medicines (JMC) and this version of the framework aims to provide an improved list of standardised intravenous infusion concentrations for use in neonates, infants and children.
