Conflicts of Interest statement
Committee members
This topic is covered in the Articles of Association of the Group but the statement below has been specifically approved by the Committee to clarify the arrangements should the situation arise.
Statement
The NPPG wishes to involve members from the widest possible areas of work to help achieve the aims of the Group as stated in the Articles of Association.
However there may be occasions when items discussed in committee could be interpreted as having real or apparent conflict of interest issues for certain committee members. This may be a member who could derive any intentional personal benefit, profit or gain, directly or indirectly, by reason of membership of the committee. If a member is uncertain if an item may be interpreted as such this should be discussed with the Chair or other executive committee member.
In these situations the committee member should leave the room whilst the item is being discussed and this will be recorded in the minutes.
