The following pharmacist staffing standards have been agreed between NPPG and the relevant organisations
Dear Colleagues,
I am very pleased to announce the publication of these (interim) revised Pharmacy Staffing Standards for Neonatal Services, produced by the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacist Group (NPPG) in conjunction with the Chief Paediatric Pharmacists Group (CPPG).
The revised standards provide clarification on staffing requirements for Network Pharmacist roles and has also added mention of pharmacist roles in relation to neonatal transport services. This resource allows Trusts & networks to assess the recommended pharmacy staffing requirements for Neonatal services in their areas, in order to provide appropriate support for the safe and effective use of medicines to this complex patient group.
I do hope that Trusts and Networks find these standards of use when reviewing pharmacy service requirements for neonatal services.
Chloe Benn
NPPG Chair
