Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at NPPG

Our commitment to the paediatric pharmacy community

The Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG) is committed to creating a professional community where every member feels valued, respected, and able to thrive.

We believe that diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens our profession – and that inclusion and belonging must be actively championed, not assumed.

We aim to ensure equity, inclusion and belonging are embedded across all aspects of our work – from the educational opportunities we provide to how we engage, collaborate and lead.

Our current priorities are to:

  • Create a culture of belonging across our membership, including those from underrepresented groups and under-recognised settings such as district general hospitals and across care settings.
  • Champion inclusive, representative leadership within NPPG and encourage diverse voices to be part of shaping our work.
  • Challenge barriers to diversity, equity, inclusion and participation within all NPPG activities

Our ongoing work is guided by the experiences of our members, including those captured in our membership survey. We are proud to support the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Pledge for Inclusion and Wellbeing and remain committed to building a profession where all pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and teams feel seen, heard and supported.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse teams and greatly value the range of perspectives this brings. The NPPG is committed to building an inclusive organisation, strengthening our ability to serve members, colleagues and patients. By working closely with our membership, we aim to build on the work we have done thus far.

As Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead for NPPG, I have listened to the honest reflections from members. Although most members feel welcome, there is still more we can to build a stronger sense of belonging. Inclusion isn’t just a value – it’s an action. And we are committed to making meaningful progress together.
