Foundations in Paediatric Pharmacy Workbook
This workbook is aimed at foundation trainees as well as qualified pharmacists who are new to paediatrics. The workbook is intended to complement a placement within paediatrics.
Starting Out in Children’s Medicines Optimisation (SOCMO)
NPPG’s ‘Starting Out in Children’s Medicines Optimisation’ (SOCMO) course runs online twice a year, usually in April and November.
The course is delivered over two half-days by experienced paediatric pharmacists. It is suitable for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and covers the following topics:
- Life stages and pharmacokinetics
- Dilemmas with unlicensed medicines
- Using medicines safely in children
- Everything that you need to know about paediatric pharmacy but are afraid to ask…
- Neonatal pharmaceutical care
- Managing paediatric asthma
- Fluids in paediatrics
- Case discussions
Attendees will be provided with a comprehensive Paediatric Pharmacy resources list and This course has been running successfully for many years and is aimed at those who require an introduction, or refresher, on paediatric pharmacy. Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE)
CPPE is funded by the Department of Health to provide continuing education for registered, practising pharmacists and pharmacy technicians providing NHS services in England. The Child Heath gateway page contains a range of learning materials related to paediatrics and child health.
