I have worked in paediatrics at Bristol children’s hospital for 10 years, coming up through the ranks to take over from Sue Jarvis on her retirement as the picu pharmacist. I am mainly clinically based, working on the unit which covers cardiac surgery, ECLS, neurosurgery, trauma, burns, renal transplants and bone marrow transplants among its specialities. The main change for us over the last 3 years has been the introduction of electronic prescribing, which is starting to produce useful data for research opportunities.
