Equality, Diversity & Inclusion 2026 member survey

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the NPPG EDI survey. A total of 45 responses were received.

The findings highlight a mixed but helpful picture. There is strong support for content that is practical and relevant to clinical work, with 80% of respondents selecting guidance for inclusive practice. Interest in other types of content was more variable, and views on the role and approach to EDI within NPPG were mixed

Responses also identified a number of consistent suggestions to improve inclusivity at the NPPG conference, including access, environment, and food, drink and faith considerations.

Committee discussion highlighted that NPPG has a responsibility to promote EDI and demonstrate inclusive practice, while ensuring this remains relevant to members and their clinical work.

In response to the survey, we will:

  • Review our approach to EDI communications, with a greater focus on practical, clinically relevant content
  • Explore how best to develop guidance to support inclusive practice
  • Work with the conference planning group to consider how best to incorporate feedback on inclusivity
  • Establish an EDI focus group to support and inform this work

We will continue to review this work as it develops and welcome further feedback from members.
